NORTH Bay, ON, November 25, 2015 – Incorporating the theme Give Today, Improve Tomorrow, Union Gas employees and retirees in the Northeast district showed their support and generosity by surpassing last year’s United Way campaign total and raising a record $29,323 for 2015.

“Year-after-year Union Gas employees, retirees and volunteers work together selflessly to raise funds for the United Way,” said Steven Jelich, district manager Northeast, Union Gas. “This year is no exception and everyone involved takes great pride in knowing they are helping to enrich our communities.”

All individual donations made during the campaign, which is led by a dedicated group of volunteers, are matched dollar for dollar by Union Gas’ parent company, Spectra Energy – doubling the funds raised.

"Union Gas and its employees have been long-time supporters of United Way and continue to set exemplary standards for others in both the Sudbury and Nipissing area." said Ciara Deschamps, community coordinator, United Way Sudbury and Nipissing Districts. "Their employees truly recognize the positive impact United Way has by supporting 58 vital programs amidst both of our communities."

Funds will go to support United Ways across the district including United Way Sudbury and Nipissing District funded agencies and programs that address the needs of the community they service with the mission to improve lives and build community by engaging individuals and mobilizing collective action.
